Fern and Hoagie

Name: Fern Jenkins

Average height, long wavy dark red-brown hair pulled into a high ponytail.  Always seems to have a gentle smile; in fact it's a little unnerving, though she really is a sweetheart.  As a high school student, Fern usually can be seen in her school's uniform - a knee length skirt in dark red, with a cream sweater and a red bow, and sensible red shoes.  She'll either have her school bag or a shopping bag with her, and is never without her persocom.  She tans easily in summer, and gets a few freckles in the bargain.
Bio: Despite being the youngest of her family, Fern's taken it upon herself to become the replacement mom since her mother's death.  It's a bit of a slog, but she's determined to do whatever she can, and is equal to almost the whole task, though it weighs on her sometimes.  Despite her sweet voice and habitual cheery expression, she's one of those types you should watch out for - Fern knows just about every embarrassing thing her siblings, father, and any friends have ever done, and won't hesitate to use this information as leverage.  On the other hand, she's also familiar with their habits, likes and dislikes, and schedules, and knows where most of them should be at any given time.  A fair amount of her impressive organization is accomplished with the help of her laptop, whom she saved up for and bought herself when she arrived in Japan, and whom she treats much the same way she does the rest of her family.

Like all laptop models, short and chubby; he wears a stuffy little vest and shirt-and-tie combo over traditional hakama and geta sandals.  A small cap sits on his head, and he also wears a visor.  Hoagie has short buttery-blond hair, most of which is in a stubby ponytail in the back, and large brown eyes.
Bio: A little spoiled, though it doesn't get to him too much since he doesn't know too many other persocoms yet.  Hoagie's slavishly devoted to Fern and will go amusingly Hulk-y if anyone threatens her - as if he could do anything about it.  He's much more likely to be the one chiding family members about deviations from schedule or oversleeping than Fern is, which can get him into trouble easily.  He's also a little jealous of Slushie, since Fern will sometimes confide in her more than she does him, but tries not to show it.
Hoagie recently discovered action-hero shows.  This may have been a mistake.
